When I was a young mother, I spent a lot of time trying to be a good mother. At the time, I read the book by Adele Faber and Elaine Maislish - 'How to talk so that the children will listen, and listen so that the children will talk', and following the reading I tried to apply many insights that emerged from the book. That's how it was when one of my children came home from school, and shared with me that he wasn't having fun there, that he was bored, and that he never wanted to go to school again! Whereas in the past I would say something like: "There's nothing to do", "Of course you're going", and an argument would start, this time I tried to apply what is written in the book, and told him: "I understand you had a hard day". And he answered me: "And I understand that you read the book you have next to your bed..."
